Do you think we can't or shouldn't do anything militarily against Assad should he refuse to control the Iraqi Baathists who are promoting the insurgency from their safe haven in Syria? I suggest that there's a lot we can and should do. It's insane from a military standpoint to allow the former Iraqi Baathists to run an insurgency from a position of safety in Syria. Otherwise, we'll never see the end of it.
