I guess the big question now is whether AMD can increase CPG revenues enough in 2005 to pay for fab 36

They have a mountain of debt to pay off before they begin to pay for that fab.


what i think is interesting is that fab36 and Intel f12 are on a fairly even build schedule. Both fabs just started moving in first tools. What makes it interesting is that Intel actually has a process to transfer and can start tool quals for 65nm. I think the differences between

1. AMD 130nm 200mm process
2. IBM 90nm 300mm process

are to great for the fab to startup on 90nm. I think the construction is out of sync with available process.
