I am a Capitalist...a pragmatic Capitalist. Pragmatism is what this is about. I see too many claims (from others) that are anecdotal or undocumented.

Wilder Penfield, the discovery of "pablum", Better, although, born in the US. Died in 1976. OTOH, many Canadians have come to the US and done their greatest work without most Americans even knowing they're Canadian (it's that thick Canadian accent :-).

John Hopkins owes much to the great William Osler. Medicine owes much to Osler.
You make your case, I'll buy it. What isn't clear is that a socialize medical system overall would cost less or deliver better results. Interpreting life expectancy or infant mortality statistics as indicating overall superiority is highly questionable. And gov'ts are expert at hiding true costs. |
