I predicted that Intel will ingore/sidestep any questions re. their Flash profitability/margins.

You are right in the sense that they specifically mentioned higher units and Elmer says that they had higher revenues- but that tells you nothing about margins and profitability.

He promised to post if anything was mentioned in the CC re. this issue.

Like I said earlier. This is a make or break time for Intel. 2005 is the second year they are caught with their pants down re. CPU's. AMD is gaining revenue, unit and server market share. They are leading on technology.

100% of Intels profits come from CPU's and the server market is no longer the leverage that Intel can use to pressurize AMD any more.

Image is everything in this game. Intel DESPERATELY wants AMD to look "poor and loosing money". The day they start looking "rich and prosperous", the heard will start migrating in their direction- and we all know the +ve feedback that that will bring.

I'm surprised at how Intel's profits stayed essentially flat even with a huge bump in revenues. An intel apologist was attributing it to starup costs and 65nm- but this is not the first time that Intel has brought up a new process node.

Additionally, all the 300mm fabs coming on line should give them huge leverage on CPU's but they are not seeing that leverage.

Somethig stinks.

No notes from the INTC CC?
