Last night I watched a documentary on Allende and Chile and how he was overthrown by a Militia in a Coup .. by Pinochet.. It was riveting.. However, It's so easy. To say it can never happen here is like saying the Stock Market will never crash because unlike 1929 we have too many safety steps in place. Sundance offers a lot of foreign made films that are very revealing and what it offers me is to see how much we live in this Country in a cocoon.. It seems that we live in a isolated political sanctuary of unawareness. We are seeing our freedoms taken away and they are justified because of the Terrorists... Anything goes as long as it is in context of being for our own good to fight Terrorism I don't know why Americans who love freedom are relinquishing the cherished values of our forefathers so easily. Your article here spells it out completely. When are Americans going to wake up to what is happening.? Oh, the other thing to squash debate and open thought... is the name calling. Dem/Lib Bush hating moron.. Where is reason and openness for dissent. That was once a great American tradition. Not everyone has to agree.
