It's strange how buying American products used to be considered patriotic and buying crap from Asia unpatriotic.

During the Reagan years the nation started drifting from common sense reality to mythology, and that trend has continued to this day. The latest version of mythmaking is that buying cheap crap from China allows Americans to pursue more profitable occupations, and thus by eliminating jobs we are creating more, better jobs and lifting all the boats.

So now buying crap from China and eliminating jobs in America has become patriotic, and wanting to buy American has become the province of leftist, supposedly unpatriotic liberals.
