Re: attitude. If you're talking about the New Orleans Whole Foods on Esplanade by the old race track, my experiences there are that the staff is always very friendly and helpful. But then, I almost never get attitude from help staff. Maybe you should try smiling? ;^)

And the folks who work at the WF by the race track are indeed a lot friendlier--still the same overpriced stuff, though. However, it's quite small and far away. I'm talking about the recently opened Uptown place, which opened a couple of years ago and with which you are obviously unfamiliar.

The trend I'm seeing is that folks were fascinated by WF when it opened, that it originally took away business from some great established local places, but that discontent has set in because of the prices, the mediocrity of a lot of its products, and the attitude. I've noted what seems a resurgence towards shopping at the cheaper just as good smaller local places.

Listen, if it all fails and you want to come back, you could always get a job at the new one. You'd fit right in.

I'm smiling.

I smile a lot.
