The author makes the claim that the system, wrt to children, is inferior to 44 countries in the world including Cuba.

Do you dispute that? Is death not a good yardstick for quality wrt childrens health care?

It is not. Death is NOT caused by the healthcare system.

Infant mortality is a function of many things, the least of which is the healthcare system. It is caused by mom's crack addiction and inadequate attention to prenatal care. It is caused by a lack of responsibility on the part of parents who don't have the gumption to take care of their children. It is caused by lapses in morality in which creeps shake and beat their children to death while they're infants (I can think of at least 4-5 cases in the small town I live in over the last 10 years).

The healthcare system? Way down the list.
