You might take note that his bringing up the fact that he's tolerant about lack of religion causes you to wonder whether he really means he is, in fact, not tolerant of lack of religion.

That has nothing to do with it.

Had he included "or no religion at all" the first time he said "free to practice the religion of their choice" in a speech I would never had raised an eyebrow. The fact is that it took a number of speeches with the latter language and considerably commentary in the press about the missing constituents before the former language was appended and became standard. Nothing that has happened subsequently alters that.

My conclusion was and continues to be that those of no religion are outside his sphere of interest. I will not change that view until and unless he does something affirmative to indicate he accepts non-believers into his family. Nominating an atheist for the next SC slot would do... <ggggg>
