I took a segment from STEM’s chart to illustrate how candle support and resistance works and how the mid-point of the tall candlestick plays a part in this.

The mid-point can be either support or resistance depending on which side of that mid-line the price is trading on. The mid-line is definitely an important point to be aware of when considering short term support and resistance levels and possible reversal (or entry / exist places).
