The very name Palestine, tell us where that comes from

Don't you even know that? The Romans renamed the province of Judea "Syria Palestina" in 123 after they suppressed the Second Jewish Rebellion.

There were indigenous in Palestine pre-1882

Actually, most of the commentary on Palestine pre-1882 remarks chiefly on how empty the place was. Comments like "we rode for 40 miles through the Jezreel Valley without seeing anybody or any sign of habitation" occur frequently. Mark Twain visited Jerusalem in 1867 and noted that it was so small he could have walked around the city, which in America would be called a village, in an hour.

People only started coming back in numbers, both Arabs and Jews, after the British took over. So there were some townsfolk, some fellahin, and bunches of Bedouin riding through. Some were Arab, some Christian Arab, some Christian Orthodox, some Druze, and some Jews. But not that many of any of them.
