Thanks for sharing that, Suma. I know a tiny bit about organic fruits and vegetables myself. It is not always possible to find them, even if you want to! What I remember from my reading is that vegetables whose leaves and skin you don't eat are less of a pesticide risk. I understand the pesticides on strawberries are very nasty, and I would not eat cherries or plums or peaches or nectarines that have been sprayed. Ditto grapes (and raisins) and apples. I sometimes do buy bananas and oranges that are not organic, because of course you peel those. And onions. It is really important to buy organic limes, lemons and oranges if you are going to grate the peel into a recipe, though. I read an article a long time ago that stated that the particular pesticide in cantaloupes is so toxic that eating one cantaloupe a year is the maximum if you want to be safe. Tomatoes!! The organic ones just taste better to me.

Trader Joe's has really reasonable prices on organic produce, but I realize they are not in all parts of the country. Do you have any stores where you live?
