Here is another release... -- Wednesday August 13 2:17 PM EDT Saville Systems' Board Seeks Shareholder Okay for Stock Split SAVILLE SYSTEMS PLC Seeks Shareholder Permission for Stock Split Aug. 13, 1997, Saville Systems PLC (SAVLY - news) said its board authorized the company to call an extraordinary meeting of stockholders for the purpose of amending SAVLY's charter to permit the board to split SAVLY shares. SAVLY noted that the meeting is expected to take place in early October. SAVLY explained that under Irish law, the board does not "generally" have the authority to declare a bonus issue to shareholders, which is the equivalent of a stock dividend in the U.S. An amendment to SAVLY's articles of incorporation would give the board such authority, if approved by the company's stockholders. The company could not be reached for further details. -- I certainly hope that this happens!! Regards, Mohammed
