Slacker, Apple's fourth quarter was bouyed by iPOD sales... ...but a repeat performance is felt unlikely. Despite the relatively high entry point price of the iPOD it sold tremendously. The fact that Apple is switching to less appointed models (no display, extremely small size, longer battery life,...), less iPODish, less tricked out, flash-based MP3 players is a sign that there is still an untapped market at the lower end for MP3 players with high storage capacity. Recall that the first Diamond Rio's had only 32 MB of storage at a time when flash memory was still quite pricey. The time for solid state players is here. Aus
