I'm much more the peace, light, harmony, happiness, health, prosperity, longevity, fun and love type. Not for me the violent solutions,
That you are, most of the time. Except when you are not, you then reveal a much darker side.
In the land of the free you are obliged to follow football? Some freedom. Heck, even in NZ I don't have to pay any heed to rugby [which is a more aggressive form of gridiron].
The Evangelicals in this country don't get it. They think they have to threaten to kill you, make laws to put you in jail, or have God punish you for an eternity if you don't do what they want you to do. (They certainly know how to separate Church from behavior).
The Evangelicals don't understand (no one ever said they were smart) it is far more effective using peer pressure to coerce you into doing things their way. There are no laws to punish you if you don't keep up with the latest news about football. No one will tell you that you will go to hell if you don't follow football.
But if you don't follow football, you will be shunned in the work place where people have higher paying jobs. There, you will be known as that weirdo who doesn't watch TV and don't want to be part of the team. You will not be invited to their homes to watch the Super Bowl. Your kids will not be allowed to play with their kids, attend their private schools, and basically have no chance for success in life.
