They make great pets if you raise them right. I got mine when he was really little and he was partly raised by me and two older Pyrenees females who tuned him in constantly. The main problem is food and it takes time to teach them not to raise their hackles when they're gorging. I remember when he was just a baby spitting and growling when someone got too close to his food dish. The only way around this is to pick them up and hold them while they eat.
