CJ, most of the opponents to SS reform say that the benefits are barely enough to keep an elderly citizen above poverty. Check out what Z had to say, for instance:

You talk about Social Security like it's some huge amount of money... it's basically just enough to keep its recipients out of poverty. IMO, NO ONE should be in poverty, I don't care if it's "their own fault" or not.

Personally, I don't mind reduced SS benefits, but we'll need to get our heads out of the sand. And I'm talking both sides of the fence.
