Darffot, Lower property taxes would definitely be good for Texas real estate prices, which looks like they are ready to topple at any moment. However, I don't think that will work as well for an educational system that is in deep trouble. So much trouble that school administrators fudged a lot of numbers to make Bush look like the "education governor." Truth is, the system hasn't gotten better under Democrats or Republicans. Ditto for Arkansas. Clinton is remembered for getting Arkansas out of 51st place (D.C. is counted with the states), but 49th wasn't all that great.

There has to be a major fix to make education affordable and good at the same time. I wish I knew the answer because I could make a couple of bucks selling it. Well, at least that conservative commentator, Strongarm Williams, made $240,000 selling a system that doesn't work, so a system that did work should probably sell for more. <G>
