All over the internet there are XP users with a network-cable-unplugged icon on their taskbar. Most of these users are making a connection or trying to make a connection while a few of them are not even trying to make a connection.

So under network-connections if a dial-up user has so much as clicked local-area-network to look at the configuration options, the connection is enabled and the network-cable-unplugged icon appears on the taskbar. To remove the icon the dial-up user can click network-connection, click local-area-network, and find the disable configuration from there...
