"In many ways we sell the kids short, and by teaching them superficially we leave them vulnerable to the strange ideas of charlatans."

"All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten"
By: Robert Fulghum

The acclaimed author has made many visits to kindergarten class rooms. He likes to ask them:

Who believes they can sing .... zing every enthusiastic hand goes up.
Who believes they can draw .... zing every enthusiastic hand goes up.
etc.

When he visits classrooms with older kids he rarely sees a hand go up in response to such questions...

Prolly some second grade teacher who didn't want to "leave them vulnerable to the strange ideas of charlatans" helped them get over such strange notions.
