Here are a couple more worthless factoids:

--A lot of people think the northernmost point of the lower 48 is Maine, because of the way maps are laid out, but really it's Minnesota because a part of its border jogs up into Lake of the Woods in Ontario.

--There is a part of Washington state that you have to drive up into Canada to get to called Point Roberts, because the border, which is straight, goes out into saltwater and slices off part of what should have been B.C. It looks pretty stupid on the map. A bunch of people live there.
