Randy,

Here's an interesting article that's in the 1 September 1997 edition of Barron's:

As Dow Swoons, Small Stocks Charge Ahead

interactive.wsj.com

Call it a tale of two markets.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average just ended its worst month since August 1990 amid a sharp selloff in once-invincible multinational stocks, but small stocks are hitting new highs daily. . . . . All this suggests that money isn't fleeing the market but is largely getting redistributed in one of the biggest rotations in recent years. . . . .

This is good news for Quidel. It's still very undervalued based on its projected earnings. Quidel will benefit not just from its increasing earnings, but also as the flow of money into the small stocks gains momentum.
