Let me lay it out:

The Shia will win and assume control of the government. The Iraqi Shia, as you may know, are in the cultural and spiritual sense, close to the Iranian Shia. There is a strong possibility that the Shia Iraqi government will be far closer to Iraq than it will be to America.

However, the Shia are intelligent, and will say and do all the right things to encourage Americans to continue to fight for stability and security in Iraq, which means continue to kill the Sunnis, who will never accept a Shia dominated government. So, in essence, we have Americans spilling blood and treasure to fight a civil war on the side of the Iranian leaning Shia.

Just ducky. I can't wait for the Bush/Condi/Rummy spin on that.
