Louie:
I also dislike Pluvia. Same for Westergaard.
I'm happy to fight in the same trench with Steve, however, and I'll try to cover him if I see Westergaard trying to knock him out. And if Steve and I were having a beer during R&R, I'd say "Pluvia, you're basically a stand-up guy. Why don't you try to just be a little more civil. People will listen a little closer to what you have to say." He'd insult me, and that would be that. (Actually that's pretty much the way things seemed to go on the SI Arakis thread, where I lurked for the past year.)
In my opinion, Westergaard is a mercenary. He'll go gunning for whoever he's told to go after. And he'll laugh at whatever wreckage he causes. Whoever his target is, it's their own fault. They shouldn't have put themselves in harm's way. He doesn't care. Just doing his job. They're just little guys anyway. He only wants to associate with the Big Names. You know, the ones with coattails he can hang onto. Little man, big ego. ("Hey, take a picture of me in my TUXEDO!!!"--[I wonder if he wears it at the office. <gg>]) What a mess!
Anyway, I'm not surprised that you don't like Pluvia. I think you may be a little to close to the TV, however. Even if the reporter is a little bit obnoxious, and even if it was only a 2-alarm fire, instead of a 4-alarm fire, it was still a fire, and it could have burned down your house. I'd be glad for the on-the-scene report if it were that close to my house. |
