'like every european country until very recently' - yes, and the key relevant part of that being, 'until very recently' .... sensibilities have changed, that's a fact of life ... Neo cites genocide of the indians as precedent, well i doubt if many will support that sort of thing nowadays ... they did previously [where 'they' are non-indians of course] - some US town in i think Colorado still had until a month or two ago a street named after Chivington, whose claim to fame was taking a troop of cavalry into an indian village and killing hundreds of women and children ... the guy who wrote Wizard of Oz, Frank Baum, was a newspaper editor at the time and wrote a piece lauding this effort, folks just lapped it up
Some would lap it up now, sure ... but more would not ... colonisation really wasn't very popular following the armistice of 1918, it was even less so by 1948 ... having the palestinians pay for the sins of the nazis may sell in some quarters, but your cost/benefit equation should include the fact that it will not sell in others
