Ever heard of intellectual property?

Stealing someone's lecture is theft.

I don't teach science, because I don't want to deal with the baggage involved in the subject area. But thanks for getting personal, it's always a pleasure.

"Patterson said he wanted to discuss "problems and difficulties" with evolution. What "context" is necessary to understand that? "

He was talking specifically about common ancestry, systematics, and amino acid sequences. He had made a prediction based on evolutionary theory, as he understood it, and had not gotten positive results. This could be the result of a misapplication of theory, a failure in the classification scheme or any number of other factors. Obviously scientists would understand this- and he probably hoped it would start people with similar scientific backgrounds looking at the problem with amino acid sequences to find the answer. What he did not expect was a bunch of creationists, with whom he fundamentally disagreed, to steal his intellectual property and use it for a purpose he did not agree with. You can finesse that all you want- but the man's work was stolen and spread in a way which distressed him. No doubt it hastened his death, and made his remaining years painful. Deal with it. Those are your people who did that.

What happens at your church is irrelevant to this discussion.
