I looked at farmhouses in Tuscany in 00 for an investment. When they converted to the Lira, they were revalued 30%. (That, combined with the real estate boom created a double)

These economies revaluing in Euro +30% is no different than the homeowner taking out home loans on increases in home values. In other words, no real value created.
