You are delusional. Why, if we had already stepped in once, would Saddam believe we wouldn't do it again? What were the plans he was making to destabilize the middle east? With what was he going to accomplish this feat? His vaunted Republican Guard? We waltzed thru that group in a few days. He had no WMD so he couldn't threaten Israel or it's neighbors. He was a toothless and ruthless tyrant who could only inflict harm to his own people. No small matter, but it does not rise to level of preemptive action. You seem to take it very lightly that we now have a doctrine of first strike. How about if we adopt those tactics when dealing with American citizens? All we need is to suspect that someone is a danger and we can roll in and lock'em up. jb
