I believe you don't see my point here, which is the bigger picture... allow me to explain... sadam insane was a very definite threat to the U.S.

Saddam posed no threat to the US. There may have been a perceived threat, but today we know with all certainty that Saddam was contained.

he was a very definite threat to a stable middle east, and Israel is our only real friend there, Israel is the only democracy in that region... that SOB would attempt to destabilize the middle east further and have it erupt into a major regional war, he even said so and he never thought the U.S. would ever stop him... this is why he invaded Kuwait

Saddam made his intentions to invade Kuwait known to the US. The response from the US was that we took no side in the conflict. Iraq claimed historic title to Kuwait.

when he did, he thought he could flaunt his might and export his terror... he was even paying the families of the palestinian suicide bombers... the timing would be ripe for the conglomerate of arab nations to destroy Israel...

LOL. The conglomerate of Arab nations already tried to sweep Israel out. The result? The Arabs got their asses kicked. Now during the Gulf War when the US and the coalition intervened, Saddam was desperate. He lobbed a few scud missiles into Israel. Why? To try to draw the other middle east countries to his side. That failed miserably. The coalition enjoyed the support of most Arab nations. The payments to Palestine were simply a way for Saddam to gain status amongst the more radical elements.

Now lets add to the story the fact that the French built Saddam a reactor...and the Israelis took it out. Saddam was powerless against the US or Israel. And since the Gulf War, Saddam has been severly restricted by no fly zones and sanctions. Saddam was contained. and he posed no threat to anyone...except his own people.

it's a religious thing with them... we have to use force to make changes over there, the diplomacy clock has run out...

Diplomacy ended with the agreements at the end of the Gulf War. From there no fly zones and sanctions were all that were tried. A maintenance of the status quo. Diplomacy should have been the center piece of continued pressure on Saddam for reforms. It simply was not done.

Force should always be reserved until after all other means have been exhausted. And force must be used when there is hard evidence of a planned attack. There was no evidence that Saddam was prepared to threaten the US...none.
