Great idea Newt. Except the hospital industry is about half way done with the job already. Some progressive hospital systems have had an EMR system running for years. Beyond dumping cash on hospitals I don't know what government can bring to the table. Its own record of bringing computer systems into the 21 century is one of vastly expensive fiascos. he wants to modernize the nation's health care system with information technology, bringing patient records and prescriptions out of the realm of ink and paper documents and into the age of computers and instant access. Here's a fresh idea. There's this new technology called "cell phones". Let's get everyone to buy one.
