Actually, a national sales tax is a fine idea. I like it because it is simple and it would tax the people who make expensive purchases the most...the rich. Oh and btw, if I could be labeled as the latest slave minority and be independently wealthy, I would take it any day. :) In the immortal words of Warren Buffett: "I pay too little taxes now, after the Bush tax cuts."
