Tom; The last part of your religion is 'Catholic', does that not imply tolerance of all viewpoints. If I knock on your door and try to make you a Jehovahs Witness , are you insulted? They feel they must spread the word this way, or are they OK because they are in the
'god club' and we barbarians must be saved from where we are. and when we say we are not in your club you make an attempt to ostracise us?? Not catholic is it? Of course Torquemada went further than that.

In Canada the assorted missionaries came here and destroyed the assorted native faiths(which are equal in stature to a white mans religion, in my mind). And even destroyed their continuity of culture by making a printed language of newly created symbols so they would have a written language. Of course the churh controlled the presses, and the symbols were not readable by others, and so it took native literature own a blind alley controlled by the churches. Far better to use the standard alphabet and spell the native language, at least it would have been readable by any English/French person, and printable on any press. And the teaching of english would allow all native children to read their native tingue and would have had a huge positive effect. This automatic assumption that their religion is better than the native one is ridiculous, and the assorted great genocides of history have been done in the name of the faith. The crusades, the destruction in the new world by Spaniards acting as warriors of the faith.

Any way I am plumb out of religoius talk for now, and will let it lie for good now.
