Nah, don't you remember? Carl KNEW that there wasn't going to be any war, Bush was going to back down. I lost count of how many times he predicted it.

Why do you delight so in repeating this? Carl was wrong about this one thing, and you repeat it ad nauseum. Supporters of the war were wrong about so many things I can't even count them anymore.

However much you repeat it, though, you never really get the context and meaning righty: he didn't think "Bush was going to back down," he thought "Bush wouldn't be stupid enough to invade." There is a big difference. What he was wrong about, Republican that he is, was in way overestimating the knowledge and intelligence of Bush and his advisors.
