The King James version of the Bible is no longer the definitive version, primarily because of inaccuracies, in translations and so forth.

College should require, under their English department, a course called, "The King James version as literature." It has nothing to do with which is the "right" translation. It is needed to make sure people can understand the references to it in our culture. It fills our language.

I took one called "the history of the bible," at SMU as a requirement when I was there.
