I should have known. They did not like SS from the get go because it smacks, God forbid, of socialism and federal largesse.

If you can, please explain to me how this works......the right is against helping poor people because they feel those people are lazy and undeserving, and yet they claim to be God fearing people who strongly espouse Jesus Christ and his teachings where repeatedly, he encouraged people to help the less fortunate.

Is this simple hypocrisy, or is there a more complicated explanation? I ask you only because you've grown up in the heart of the red states and where this oxymoron [?]seems to most prevail. If you don't have an answer, I will understand.
