I agree, they don't replace religious explanations. If you don't try to put religious explanations in science class, I won't try to put scientific explanations in Sunday school classes. Deal?

The issue that you continually skirt in your smirkyness, is the very boldness in which you refuse to recognize the fact that the theory of evolution brings 'belief' into the classroom, not the Sunday school teacher. The Sunday school teacher is merely objecting to a flawed and contradictory world view being presented to her children as a singular truth.

This doctrine of the lab cloak cleric is extremely present in the classroom whether you want to admit it or not.

"The origin of the universe occurred about 14 billion years ago. The earth coalesced about 4.5 billion years ago. Life subsequently began, probably as bacteria deep in rocks, and has been evolving ever since. The process of evolution has been driven by purely natural forces, without input from a God or a Goddess or multiple deities.

Are you claiming that we would find no instances of the above in public schools? Because this is purely belief based and unsupported by facts. In fact, the facts contradict such a scenario.
