Bush took a calculated risk that Clinton's information on Saddam was accurate

OK then...once again let me stop laughing. Bush relied on Clinton? Bahahahahahahahahahahahaha. That is the funniest thing I ever heard. He took Clinton's number one terror guy, Clarke, and wished him into the cornfield.

and that the world's intelligence agencies were correct.

Correct in what their guesses based on the sharing of the same guesses with the US? Bahahahahahahahaha. There was no hard evidence. Only assessments based on what information was at hand. And since no one really had much information they guessed. That is what is done, especially in a low stakes poker game. You guess what the other guy has in his hand.

It's pretty obvious that Saddam had tinkered with small amounts of chem and bio weapons, but no program per se.

That is a contradiction. Saddam tinkered with the WMD that was given to him by the west. Gas for the Kurds and Iranians.

The extent of his threat was a miscalculation to be sure.

Now that would be an understatement.

But would you have wanted to be the President who ignored intelligence and let an attack happen?

What intelligence? There were no hard facts...only an assessment. A fancy name for a guess.

If I'm president I'll take every threat seriously. But I will take no pre-emptive invasion of a country based on a guess. I will however surround, control, demand inspections, human rights and a representative government.

Kennedy took action on definite proof. Photos of the weapons sites and weapons.

But monday morning quarterbacking is easy, isn't it?

This ain't Monday Night Football and you are not John Madden. It's freeken war!
