Tommaso:

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate you comments concerning fund management, BEARX, and ease of mind. De'ja' vu. Four or so years ago I took a course taught by a well respected, non-conventional economy professor, Dr. Colander. You echo what he said - "I let someone else worry about it." Along those lines I checked into Rydex Ursa fund last fall. Good thing I didn't move into that one back then; it has been clobbered.

For timing I have relied on Jerry Favor's analysis for the past year. As you may know it is a technical analysis service partially grounded in Wave Theory. After reading Elliott ad hoc mumbo jumbo, that bordered on weird -- golden ratios, pyramids, Fibonacci numbers -- I tossed in the towel. Now I leave the timing aspect of investing to someone else. Life is simpler. Incidently, he predicts a Bull early this week.

Perhaps, someone with theoretical experience has found or developed a formula to help determine a statistically appropriate LEAP or standard Put option assuming a maximum-minimum S&P penetration level. I bet some pregnant plots would develop. Perhaps someone reading the mail will have some input.

Personally, I anticipate a drop of 50% or more from the August's high. Currently I am positioned in Zeros. Safer yes; but lower on leverage.

Ciao, Ted
