Everyone is in agreement that Saddam needed to be checked. Where I disagree with you and others is with the means and methods used.

Actually you said that you would not have invaded Iraq in the same manner that Bush did. It's to your credit.

We needed to make sure that Saddam was in check. Pre-emptive war was not the only option on the table. I believe that it was the hawkish elements in the Administration, and Bush himself, that decided that invasion was the best policy.

The post war mess in Iraq, the pending civil war and the tremendous cost of this war in lives and dollars bears out that this option should not have been taken so lightly. A cake walk it has not been.
