Ok, but what was the point in bringing up McNabb's race, unless Rush wanted to make a larger point about black quarterbacks in general?
You can't say that McNabb's race was irrelevant to Rush's point, because Rush was the one who brought his race into the discussion.
If McNabb's race didn't matter, why did he bring it up? And if it did matter, what was the point Rush was trying to make?
Logically, it has to be that McNabb was being hyped because "they" wanted a black quarterback to succeed, despite the fact that none was doing so. I can't think of ANY other explanation.
Besides which, I have heard people come right out and say that blacks are not smart enough to be quarterbacks. So I would bend over backwards to avoid saying anything which could be construed as that.
Besides which, Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot (and so is Al Franken!) I like being hard on Rush. He doesn't give any quarter to anybody he disagrees with, so why should I give any to him? After all, he's laughing all the way to the bank, puffing on his cigar and drinking his wine (and popping his pills, but that's another story.) |
