Yet another poll shows Americans don’t trust the media

Yet another big surprise to you all – another poll shows that by a 3-to-1 margin, Americans don’t trust the press.

From a Harris poll released last week:

* A 62 to 22 percent majority of Americans did not trust “the press”

* A 43 to 33 percent plurality of Americans were inclined to trust the radio

* A 58 to 22 percent majority of Americans did not trust television

Now whether people mistrust the media’s accuracy or the agenda that the MSM screams it does not have is not certain. But the message here is clear.

The same poll shows that Americans trust the military by a 3-to-1 margin, or opposite of the low regard the public has for the press. I guess the media agenda of “all bad news, all Abu Ghraib, all the time” isn’t working. I wonder if the millions of blogs giving the rest of the story from Iraq and Afghanistan has something to do with that?

As for me, I’m trusted 3-to-1 as a soldier, and despised 3-to-1 as a journalist, so it looks like I’m batting .500, which would get me in the Hall of Fame if I played baseball.
