LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The Dave Matthews Band and bluegrass combo Alison Krauss + Union Station will make their first appearances at the fourth annual Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, set to take place south of Nashville on June 10-12, organizers said on Wednesday.
Also making their Bonnaroo debuts are rock bands Modest Mouse and the Mars Volta, and young British soul singer Joss Stone.
Acts returning to Bonnaroo include Widespread Panic, the Allman Brothers Band, Jack Johnson (news), Gov't Mule, Yonder Mountain String Band, STS9, Keller Williams (news), and Bela Fleck. In all, Bonnaroo will feature more than 60 artists, with further announcements due in coming weeks, a statement said.
As with previous sold-out editions, Bonnaroo will host 90,000 fans on a 700-acre rural site in Manchester, TN., about 60 miles south of Nashville. Last year's event, featuring the Dead, Dave Matthews and Friends, Trey Anastasio (news) and Bob Dylan (news), was the second-highest-grossing concert of 2004 with sales of $14.5 million, according to Billboard magazine.
