DJ Elgindy Jury Asks For Nuclear Solutions Extortion Evidence
. . By Carol S. Remond . Of DOW JONES NEWSWIRES .

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Jurors in the criminal case against short-seller
Anthony Elgindy and former FBI special agent Jeffrey Royer have asked to
review evidence related to extortion charges against the two men.

In their second day of deliberation, jurors asked to hear taped
conversations relating to the alleged extortion of a company called Nuclear
Solutions Inc. (NSOL). Jurors also asked to review transcripts of court
testimony relating to the alleged extortion of Nuclear Solutions and its
chief executive officer, Paul Brown.

Brown died in a car accident in April 2002. His sister testified at the
trial.

Elgindy and Royer are charged in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern
District of New York with securities fraud, extortion and obstruction of
justice.

The government alleges that Royer was a corrupt agent who
misappropriated non public information and shared it with Elgindy and
others. Federal prosecutors alleged that Elgindy used his private investing
website to disseminate negative information he obtained from Royer to
maximize his trading profits. The government also alleges that in the case
of two companies, including Nuclear Solutions, Elgindy used that information
to extort discounted shares from them.

Elgindy and Royer are also accused of having obstructed an investigation
into suspicious trading prior to the 9-11 attacks. That investigation turned
into a probe of Elgindy's relationship with then-FBI agent Royer.
