History is interesting to me but it cant be the sole determinat for policy. These guys are consumed by this history in this case and it blinds them to alternate fair outcomes. If i follow marcos view at all it leads me to believe that he would be against oslo, barak, clinton peace efforts because they keep israel as a jewish state. He might pass on peace for this reason and thus do what--condemn the pals to another 60 years of hell. The israelis take blows along the way but the Pals really do the heavy suffering at the hands formerly of arab states and currently of leftist PC. Am i wrong about this? This is why i got so pissed off at leon and marcos over the last few weeks. They were calling for the death of israel couched in their terms--death of zionism, perhaps unawares of what pal retribution would follow in a one-state solution. Utopian almost in their sillyness. mike
