I believe rich people benefit most from our system, therefore, they should sholder the larger burden of the taxes.

So why have higher income tax rates on "rich" people? Or are you against it?

Rich people already "earned" their riches and have it invested subject to capital gain tax limits and tax free municipal bonds or other creative investment opportunities like selling a house. You might want to check out all of the rich dems as you look around at the legislation they support. Raising income taxes ain't gonna touch the Kennedys, Kerrys, or Clintons, or even W. I would love to see one of Clinton's tax returns with income posted from speaking engagements. I imagine just about everything is a "business" expense, to be deducted.

Like you said, a national sales tax will get everyone involved, even the drug dealers buying their new rides with earned drug money income...No exceptions or credits; you'd end up in the same mess we have today.
