Does it matter to you at all that the Arabs started the 1947 war by violating a UN partition? Who was attempting to conquer who? And in 1967, does it matter to you that the West bank came under israels control because arab armies were ready to attack? Israel fought in both cases, won and then tried to trade the land back to the arabs for the one thing that they really covet--Recognition.
