re: SIA.L (Soco International) - traded in london around 450p..

well the stars are aligning on this one, consolidating around 450p for now. The company's Libyan JV reportedly bid for at least 10 of the offered concessions that were opened to Intl exploration in Libya. Bids were submitted by Jan 10th. at the end of January we will know the details and

Just one additional goodie: I read that some Libyan heavyweight residents are tied into Soco's Libyan JV. That measn these guys might have the real feeling for what to bid, what's good and bad on the domestic oilpatch. Call it a headstart on pretty much of the international competition that had to honour that 18 year embargo on the country.

If all goes well, this could mean a multi TCF gas and a multi MMBOE oil reserve for soco just "waiting to get harvested". Note that the Russian gas firm most connected to the tower of Russian Power (Gazprom) is also a partner to the JV. Go figure !

Results from the bidding round are to be announced soon. Stay tuned - might turn out exciting.
