As I said - the assertion that scientists are frequently non-religious because they are intellectually superior to (or are trained in some mental discipline) and can "see through" the nonsense of religion is ridiculous.

Perhaps you think Shockley's opinions on the innate intellectual abilities of various racial groups had something to do with his being a Nobel prize winning scientist (in physics)? Or could it be that scientists, even Nobel winners, are no better judges of things outside their particular fields than anyone else (to repeat myself again).
