Wharfy, <or did you play in school?> Yup, high school and college. Even had a tryout for the 68 Olympic team, but my hockey career was rudely interrupted by the draft (Army draft). I knew some guys on the 68 team...the team was awful and never made it into the medal rounds..got beaten by Switzerland. I'm not sure if I would have made it or not...I didn't play at a "named" school but had pretty good stats at Lake Forest for a defenseman. We played a lot of named schools like Wisconsin, Notre Dame, OSU etc, but we were a pretty small school and only had one line that was national level...the rest of the lines were D-3 level. I also had extensive coaching experience with the NNBM Icebears who won the playoffs three years ago against Voltaire's Porch.<g> Grew up playing the game....absolutely was a rink rat...and as a teenager only wanted to play hockey.
