Colin Powell was a strong but much needed tempering voice in a sea of hawks. Condi is one of those hawks.

I agree with you on this.

Condi does not have the stature to stand on her - lacking in the necessary gravitas. She owes too much to the Bush family.

Nevertheless, she is pretty smart. Smart people are more apt to grow through experience. She may yet turn out to be okay. If she is as smart as I think she is, she could force a settlement in the ME. Win the Nobel Pease Prize and be in line to be the first female President.

However, her answers to the prisoner abuse questions are very disturbing to me. She has to spend some time with John McCain and get his views on this.
